Bio

In 2009, Victor was a Pacific Fund Grant recipient, which sent him to the William Joiner Center for the Study of War and its Social Consequences. While there, he studied with Vietnam Veteran and highly influential American poet Bruce Weigl, author of Song of Napalm and several other books of poetry.

Victor has also been mentored by the dynamically skilled, poet and academic Camille Norton, who teaches at The University of the Pacific. Her book, Corruption, was selected by renowned poet Campbell McGrath for the 2004 National Poetry Series Open Competition.

Victor’s work has appeared in the award winning Literary arts magazine Calliope, in Pemmican Press, and on the Sierra Club’s Website. In 2010, he spoke at the National Undergraduate Literature Conference (NULC) at Weber State University, sharing his original poems on the subject of the Iraq war. He also read his poems at the 2010 War, Literature, and the Arts Conference, which took place September 16th—18th, 2010, at the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, CO.

Victor continues to write and work on his craft. He lives in San Francisco, CA, where he is completing his MFA in Poetry at the University of San Francisco. Victor is also a Lawrence Ferlinghetti Fellowship recipient, which allows him to continue his work in poetry.
